Thank you for your interest in the role of Provider Collaborative Procurement Director and the opportunity to shape and lead a high-impact, system-wide transformation of NHS procurement in Dorset.   

The development of the new Procurement Target Operating Model for Dorset presents the opportunity to build on the existing strong foundations within the three partner Trust Procurement teams in order to create a single Procurement Shared Service that will generate substantial financial benefit whilst delivering significant service improvements for our stakeholders including clinicians, suppliers and patients.  Hosted by University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust, the service is due to go live in September with a structure in place which will enable this.   

For the appointed Provider Collaborative Procurement Director, the opportunity to implement the agreed Target Operating Model, develop the service and effectively engage key stakeholders through a period of substantial change will bring reward and challenge in equal measure.  As the Shared Service lead expert, this role will provide and direct expert strategic advice on all procurement and supply chain matters and lead the realisation of demonstrable and incremental cash releasing savings and value for money for the goods and services the organisations we procure.  It is a role which will require compassionate yet robust leadership, political acumen and commercial capabilities – the ability to navigate both opportunity and risk and communicate on highly complex matters in difficult situations with conflicting priorities will be key.   

This is a truly exciting opportunity to lead a high-impact, system-wide transformation.  The new operating model will reduce duplication of activity, and drive more strategic focus on things currently lacking (such as category management and contract management) which will drive increased benefits across the Dorset healthcare landscape.
